In Blood & Steel, Daojin Hu Linglan is a swordswoman from the country of Samo in Japan who masters the skill in fighting with Odachi. Brave and persistent, the heroine travels to China to find Jing Lie who turns his back on their engagement. She married Jing Lie in the end.

Felix Ip graduated from the Department of Design of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has been the art director of Imagi Animation Studios since 2000. Ip was the director and production designer for Zentrix, the first original 3D-CG animated TV series in Hong Kong; he was also the art director for animated films Ninja Turtles and Astro Boy. In 2010, Ip joined Unicorn Studios and worked on the comic adaption of the famous novel Blood & Steel. He is now a freelance creator and participates in various forms of comic and animation creation. His comic works include Blood & Steel, Hong Kong Infection∙Mong Kok Station, Robox Sketchbook, etc.
