Yan Ip

Yan Ip opened her page “Plastic Thing” on social media platforms in 2013, in which she shares her comic works that reflects social phenomena in Hong Kong in an amusing way. Ip has gained more than 240,000 likes on her Facebook page and over 400,000 followers on Instagram as of December 2018. Plastic Thing depicts the daily life of the big eye goddess and the bald boy in thick lines and bold colors with straightforward and interacting stories that knock her readers out. Ip’s success as a popular local online comic artist has brought her opportunities to collaborate with various brands, while her published works are also sought-after.

Plastic Thing reflects the social condition and trends in Hong Kong through the everyday life of the big eye goddess and the bald boy. The comic work interprets a funny, humorous style in thick lines and bold colors.
