GUM emerged in the comic field when he was 16 as a mentee of Sueng-kun Siu Wai. He joined Jademan Comics when he was 19 and became a primary author at the age of 21. He has worked for a couple of publishing houses including Jademan Comics, Jonesky Limited, Freeman Holdings Limited, and Culturecom Holdings Limited before he established his own comic publisher.
